Bath Bomb Ingredients

We have spent a long time, researching, developing, testing, failing, developing testing on repeat to get the perfect bath bomb recipe.

We wanted our bath bombs to be gently exfoliating, and nourishing and moisturising properties all in one bath bomb!!

Not to mention, they can not under any circumstances stain your skin or bath!! We would hate to hear of this happening.

Below is a list of out base bath bomb recipe ingredients and a short explaination as to why we use these Ingredients:

Sodium bicarbonate - Has mild exfoliating and anti-bacterial properties, is alkaline and mildly cleansing. Not to mention it will make amazing fizzing bath bath bombs.
Citric Acid - Is believed to contain protective antioxidants, and anti-aging effects helping to reverse visible signs of photo damage. It works by exfoliating the upper layer of dead skin cells in order to assist in clearing pores, it may also tone, soften and smooth the skin. In our bath bomb recipe the combination of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate, causes a reaction between acid and alkali and is what creates the impressive fizzing and foaming effect.
Cream of tartar - Cream of tartar is a natural ingredient commonly used in cooking to strengthen the matrix of bubbles in products. In our bath bombs it creates a light and foamy texture. It is believed to have antimicrobial properties and be helpful in fighting acne.
SLSA - Derived from Responsibly Sourced Palm and Coconut Oil, our (SLSA) is a gentle, and non-irritating cleanser. Which provides a rich foamy lather. Truly an excellent and gentle choice for sensitive skin.
Betonite Clay - Bentonite can be used in a bath to aid the detox process. This clay works like a sponge on your skin as it absorbs oil and dirt, including sebum. It's a well known fact that excessive sebum can lead to acne. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of Betonite may help your skin improve, heal and decrease acne.
Sweet Almond Oil - It is light and penetrates quickly into the skin. It contains glucosides, vitamins and minerals which are believed to be especially helpful for eczema, and itchy, dry inflamed skin.
Polysorbate 80 - Is a mild surfactant used to disperse oils in bath water. This will solubilise the oil ad prevent oil puddles forming on the bath surface and the adherence of oil and colours to the side of the bath.
Shea Butter - A fantastic anti-inflammatory ingredient which is believed to assist with dryness, dermatitis, eczema and burns.  It is a smooth, creamy and incredibly moisturising product which is gentle on your skin. Shea butter is thought to aid in the skin's natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin.
Fragrance - we offer a wide range of fragrances, and we only ever use skin safe fragrance and essential oils in specified safe amounts.
Isopropyl Alcohol - is used as a wetting ingredient in our bath bombs in order for us to mould them. Its also beneficial as it evaporates quickly and leaves minimal amounts in our bath bombs. We use 100% Isopropyl alcohol with zero extra additives.
Mica - we use skin safe synthetic mica in different combinations, colour codes listed on our website.
Colour - we use a range of liquid colours to provide our bath bombs with a fun look, these colours will always be skin safe, and won't harm your skin.
